Missing the 90′s

There comes a point in our lives when we realize that we gave up our dreams in exchange of reality. Yeah, sometimes it is bitter.
Earlier today a couple of my childhood friends. They migrated to canada after we graduated highschool. We used to be in a band before, rockin those epiphone guitars and yamaha drums. Everything was just fun back then. It is funny now that we all turned out as professionals in IT. Not really what we expected.

We spent the day talking about what we did as students. Night came, time flew so fast. We werent able to talk much about our present. But hey, we decided to part right there. Better for us if we remember the good times we had.

Saving up by buying out of season items

Here’s one very effective tip to cut costs on items you buy…
Buy them when they are not in season.

Case example, white cord christmas lights. We all know that these items are a necessity during Thanksgiving and Christmas, however they triple in price during those seasons. Try buying them in summer and see how much you’ll save.

Another example, swimwear. Oh those cute swimwear are just soo expensive during summer. Have you tried getting them during winter? Yeah, you’ll be surprised at how cheap they come.

Try to site some more examples and post them below. Thanks.

Discount announcement!

Heads up guys!

I was browsing some sites when I came across the best deal ever. Discounted behringer b212xl at guitar center!

Sorry for those who cannot relate. I am just very excited to get mine right away. This is one of my dream guitars. I have always wanted to get one but they cost too much for my budget. The quality is just superb. The price actually is good, just not good for me. But now, this is a huge opportunity for me. Can’t wait!

Learning automotive mechanics

Would you believe that I got my student driving permit just today? Yep, I’m turning 30 and I am just learning how to drive.

I used to oppose the idea of cars. You know, all that global warming stuff you learn in elementary. But recently, I started to get it. Cars make life easier. They get you from point a to point b whenever you want. No need to wait in queues for buses. No need to struggle in trains during peak hours. It’s just pleasant driving.

I guess now is the best time to learn how to drive. In addition, I also enrolled in automotive mechanics and repair. It’s not your usual troubleshooting. It’s hardcore car technology with the use of inspection balls and tuning tools.

I decided to do this for fun, and for future use as well. I used to be an electronics enthusiast, now I’m starting to become a car hobbyist.

Relaxing in Sydney

Hello everyone! My apologies for not contacting you recently. Everything went so fast and I was not able to make time for anything aside from my work.

As the title says, I’m relaxing in Sydney! I arrived a couple of weeks ago. My new company sent me here for a critical task. That two weeks I have been so busy with work.

Now I guess I have adjusted. No longer busy with work. So what better things to do than walking around this famous city and looking at ads at their led video wall.

Hope everything is well for you guys.

A clean slate for 2013

The best thing about the new year is that we get to have a clean slate again. Everything done this year will all be “in the past”. It gives us new hope.

Speaking of new hope, I am really hoping that this year I get be healthy.2012 has not been that kind to me in terms of health. I got sick about every other month and my asthma is back again. The culprit is the unhealthy lifestyle, stress and the dirty air that is circulating in my condo unit.

I recently invested in a home hepa filter system hoping that it can help me reduce my asthma attacks. I had my condo unit air vents and it turns out that it has been infested with black molds. I got it sanitized already. I also purchased herbal supplements for the whole year. Now I’m ready for 2013. Clean slate, clean air, clean and healthier living. Bring it on!

Problem solved!

Anyone of you with a DSLR had probably experienced the same problem as I did. DSLR use AA rechargeable batteries. However, rechargeable batteries take too long to charge up. Plus, they need to be used immediately after charging because they automatically discharge in a few days or so.

On time I went on a four day hike with my trigger happy friends. We went to a mountain cabin with no electricity. I had a lot of rechargeable batteries ready. However on the fourth day, most of the batteries were already discharged without me even using them. It was quite unfortunate for me because the last day was the clearest day. If I only had batteries then I could have taken better shots.

Last week, a friend of mine found the solution to my problem. He found eneloops from thomasdistributing. These batteries retain their charge up to 12 months. They discharge very slowly so they are ideal for long trips. Finally, problem solved!

On the recent CT shooting

I remember the time when hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes were the worst things that parents worry about when their kids are in school. Those memories are long gone. These days, gun shooting is becoming a “normal” situation in schools.

Just recently, another shooting spree in CT, left 27 dead. 20 of them, children of 5 to 10 years old.

I could not find the words to describe it. It was more than tragic. It was plain evil.

Why are these things happening to us? Are we spending too much on the country’s external defense that we could not protect our citizens from internal threats? Or is it the culture of democracy that is slowly showing its true color during these times of crisis. I’m sure no one, even the president, can justify this tragedy.

Maybe it is time to implement some security measures in schools as well. Bag checks, metal detectors and rfid could probably help. Security measures that are usually implemented in banks must be implemented in schools as well. We are not just talking about money here, we are talking about children’s lives.

Announcement: Xmas party on Monday!

I’m excited to announce that our Christmas party will push through on Monday. This is to celebrate a successful year in business. We exceeded our annual profit target for the year plus we saved so much in our budget.

Make sure you practice singing at home, coz I will be hooking up my genz benz to a videoke and a projector! Everyone is OBLIGED to sing. It will be a contest and of course, there will be big prizes, courtesy of our budget savings.

Plus, if you decide not to come, you will miss out on a BONUS that will be given away on that day only. So I suggest that everyone attend the party.

By the way, there will be unlimited beer so you will just have to bring food for the potluck. No pizzas please. Mojos will still be appreciated though.

Parking problem? Stack ‘em up!

If you’re a family of five, who are all working, chances are you have the same problem at home as I do – where do I park my car?!

Yep. Bragging aside, we have five cars at home. Usually we just park on the street because the garage can only occupy two cars, and the driveway only one. However, new city laws have been approved prohibiting cars to be parked in streets. After much panic, we decided to do some research. My dad was planning to have a basement parking which would cost a fortune. Good thing my brother found a great product for this problem. The 4 post lift.

It is just ingenious. The 4 post lift basically is a double deck bed for your cars. It instantly doubles the available parking space in your garage. Now we do not have to worry about getting tickets for street parking.
